Letter to Reader of "Blazing Upheaval"

Dear Reader,

Blazing Upheaval is based on a true story. I like to transform real-life narratives into gripping fiction thrillers. I'm amazed by the experiences and events people are unexpectedly thrown into. They inspire me with their strength and courage, facing daunting circumstances. I intricately weave the threads of their story into a tapestry of suspense and intrigue.

As a former teacher who lived through the Rodney King riots and the Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles, I witnessed firsthand the tumult and the recovery that followed. These events were not just historical footnotes but lived experiences that profoundly affected individuals and communities. The courage, solidarity, and determination I saw inspired me to capture these moments in a way that honors the real-life heroes who navigated through them.

Writing Blazing Upheaval required a great deal of research into the details of the riots and the earthquake. I delved into countless accounts, photos, and reports to ensure that the depiction of these events was as accurate and evocative as possible. Through this book, I hope you will learn more about these significant events and get a feel for what the people endured, and suffered, and the incredible resilience they showed.

On my website, weaveofsuspense.com, I posted blogs with pictures of the Rodney King riots and the Northridge earthquake. If you look at them before and after you read the book, I think it will give you more insight into the impact they had on the cities. These visuals, combined with the narrative, will offer a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs that characterized that period.

Thank you for choosing to read my book. It is my hope that Blazing Upheaval will not only entertain you but also enlighten you about a critical chapter in history through the lens of compelling fiction. Your support and interest mean the world to me, and I am confident that you will find the story as gripping and thought-provoking as I intended it to be.

Sincerely,

Karen Charles
