MY THOUGHTS:

 Evan's Gift by Karen Charles is a young children's book about a young boy, named Evan, traveling to a boarding school where other American children would be going to school and living there on the campus full-time. Evan dreams of owning a new red bike, and he is saving his money to earn it. He has some hindrances that get in the way, but he never gives up. He keeps saving by doing anything and everything he can. Then one day, when Evan has saved up enough money for the bike, something happens to his friend Sidney. He makes the right choice when his friend needs something that he can not afford himself, and Evan buys this for his friend, even though it will cost him his bike dream. And he finds a surprise on his arrival home because of the choice he made for his friend instead of himself. This is an excellent teaching book that shares how instant gratification is not the way to go in life. And how by helping your friends, you can still get what you want, it just may take longer than you anticipate. And sometimes the universe smiles down on you for doing the right thing. I will be sharing this one with my students and also fellow teachers, as this is an excellent read with a great moral lesson for all! CM rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
